Since 2004, the Catalan Federation of Triathlon organises together public institutions of the sport with the very excellent Town Council of L'Ampolla, and with the support of the maxims at autonomous level, the race of triathlon named IRONCAT, in the modality of long distance.

IRONCAT is the only triathlon with distances 3,8 km., 180 km. and 42,2 km. that it is carried out in the Iberian peninsula and only in the Mediterranean Sea, in an incomparable environment as it is the locality of l 'Ampolla and the nature reserve of the Delta of Ebro.

IRONCAT is a project that from its first edition thrills us year after year always maintaining the desire for improvement in the organizational area as well as in the human being for the Catalan Federation of Triathlon.

These two Illusion thrill words and Improvement would not be anything without the most important part of the IRONCAT, you, the triathletes. The human part of the IRONCAT. It is for this reason that we want to invite you and to do you you take part of this experience that is the IRONCAT, and thrill to those that you have not taken part yet, and for those that you have already done it, to break your last mark.

IRONCAT is a race that it invites and it encourages to take part to the ones not initiated in this type of distances by several reasons:

The race will be developed in the Village of l'Ampolla (Tarragona) and through the surroundings of the Delta of l'Ebre.

Day 15:

17:00 H. Briefing and delivery of ridges in the Town Council of l'Ampolla Square Manuel Ferrer, 3 • 43895 l'Ampolla.

Day 16:

06:00 H. Opening Boxes. • Location of Boxes: In front of the Yacht Club of l'Ampolla.

07:00 H. Start.

Break times:

Swimming 2,00 h. • Swimming + Cycling 10,00 h. • Maximum time: 15,00 h.

Race Regulation:

The regulation I.T.U will be applied. for this type of race.

Circuit Description:

3,8 km. of gone, carrying out 2 laps to a rectangle in the natural harbour of the Fangar.

Exit and arrival in the Port of the Yacht Club of l'Ampolla.

Circuit Description:

180 Km. of tour carrying out 6 laps in a circuit of 30 Km. by 90% cut to the traffic.

The drafting will not be allowed.

The circuit is completely flat, except the last 2 Km. with a small rise to arrive to boxes.

Circuit Description:

42,2 Km. in mixed circuit of asphalt and land of 6 laps of 7 Km.

2.700 € in prizes

Trophies to the three first classified masculine and feminine (individual and clubs).

Medals and T-shirt "Finisher" for the participants who finish the race.

A special classification will be carried out for nations, where it will be awarded with trophy to the first classified nation and that will be obtained of the sum of the three best times of the competitors of a same country, nation or legally recognised autonomy.

It is important that in the sheet of inscription the nation of the competitor is indicated.

From the 09/19/2008 to the 04/20/2009: 180 €

From the 04/21/2009 to the 05/07/2009: 200 €

For the participants of the I edition: 150 €
